--The Element of a Spirit usually gives you a basic idea of what abilites they may have, and determines its weaknesses or resistances to other Elements.
--The Element of an attack determines what weaknesses it can exploit or what resistances it might be vulnerable to, as well as what possible status effect the attack may inflict.
Each paragraph contains the name of the element, what island it is dominant on, what color symbolizes it, its weaknesses and resistances, the status effect it may inflict, what Elemental Fuel (see page "Battle") it is powered by, and known Element-Lords of that specific Element.
Fire

Thunder

--Symbolized by a light yellowish color
--Weak against Shadow and Light, and strong against Steel and Dragon
--Thunder-type attacks may inflict Paralysis

--(Thunder was introduced towards the end of Book 1 as a "Sub-Element," but later evolved into a normal Element.)
